Cliché referred them as “Man’s Best Friend”… And why not? They have demonstrated it time and again. They can be a bomb sniffing, companion, protection, guide, drug sniffing etc. Many tales have been put out regarding dogs’ great courage. How they rescued their masters in the verge of fatalities and other forms of critical events.
Dogs are loyal indubitably. They are presenting it in diverse manners. Even if you restraint them, they won’t fight back. When problem seems unbearable, they are always there. Ever faithful. Ever reliable.
The “delight” they bring are immense and their protection and loyalty are beyond compare. Unlike people, you can’t hear any form of droning or dissatisfaction, instead, the obedience remains and that’s why we stick on in nurturing dogs.
We care for pets, apparently canine. And to show our interest with them, there are six dogs now thriving in our house. They intermingle with us because kennel stresses them. Out of six dogs, 3 are bastards and 3 are bitches, all of which have mixed pedigrees. Eldest is seven years old while the youngest is 3 years old.
Then one day, my niece brought a cute and cuddly four month old male puppy. She said it is a Lhasa Apso. A Lhasa Apso is a non-sporting dog breed originating in Tibet. It was bred as a nucleus guard in the Buddhist monasteries, who alerted the monks to any intruders who cross the threshold. Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet and apso is a word in the Tibetan language meaning “Bearded,” so Lhasa Apso basically means “Long-haired Tibetan dog.”
This puppy has a similarity to a Shih Tzu. Veterinarian sad that there are distinct differences to compare Lhasa Apso to the breed mentioned above. The Lhasa Apso is bigger than the Shih Tzu. This is the most evident physical difference between the two breeds. Although bigger, a Lhasa normally has a smaller bone structure, therefore, it will look slimmer than a Shih Tzu, which has a more solid body structure.
Upon seeing how adorable he is, we took turn in cuddling and playing him, sometimes altogether. When the “exhilaration” subsided, all of us suggested a name but sorry to say, previous owner called him “flurry”. We tried to call him with other name but to no avail. He seemed to like his erstwhile name. Besides, it’s a nice moniker. My niece told me that it was taken from “Mcdonalds” Mcflurry. The “McFlurry” is a vanilla ice cream dessert that has pieces of candy, fruit or cookies mixed into it. They just shortened the name which makes it “unique”.
Flurry adjusts to his new environment especially the six dogs that came before him though sometimes he initiates a clash with the “pack” because he tends to show his dominant trait. But that rarely happens and as he continuously mingling with the “pack” Flurry starts to absorb their behavior in the sense that he acts like them (he even yearns to go outside with them), and wants to “interact” with them all the time.

So my niece, as anxious as she is, starts to get concerned and in order to back track his old self (Flurry) she stopped him from joining the “pack” anymore. Though he seemed unenthusiastic to follow such harsh action, he couldn’t do anything but to conform in full agreement .Nonetheless, every time he spots them he transforms in an instant so in order to discharge the stress felt by my niece I advised her to let Flurry join the “pack “once more. With that I retorted, maybe Flurry’s not a Lhasa Apso after all!
