A Minneapolis woman who attempted to mail a live 4 month old Poodle puppy from her home in Minneapolis to Atlanta has got into some serious trouble with the authorities. She wants her puppy back but the a local court in her area, has ruled that she will not be getting the puppy back. The lady, Stacy Champion was trying to send the puppy to her 11 year old son a birthday gift was thrilled with the idea of her son opening the mail box to find a new live puppy in there. She also hoped that this would make the boy very happy with his Mom.
The authorities however felt that acts of this loving mother amounted to some kind of cruelty against animals because, the box in which the puppy had been sealed had no holes to allow in fresh air, it had neither food nor water and chances are that the puppy could have arrived dead because there was nothing at all to protect it from the severe weather conditions being experienced currently in America.
The visibly hungry Stacy Champion complained about the ruling, saying the courts had ostensibly and unfairly denied her the right to send a birthday gift to her son and portrayed her as a mean mom who never cared about the birthday of her son. When she requested the authorities to giver back her box and the puppy, court refused and instead called her act disgraceful and that she would get non of her items back. The puppy whose name is Guess has been taken to the Minneapolis Animal Care and Control shelter and there are already willing individuals who have made enquiries about possibilities for adopting it.
She faces two counts of animal cruelty and could pay a hefty fine for her misdemeanor.
