One breed of an AKC Purebred dog mated with another dog of the same lineage results in a mixed breed or hybrid dogs.
They are all the rage now. It seems dogs that were once given to shelters are wanted by everyone. Because a lot of hybrid dogs are mixed with poodles, people like hybrid dogs because they don’t shed and are allergy free.
There are at least 372 hybrid mixes , but it seems the numbers go up almost daily as a person brings in a new type of hybrid dog to American Canine Hybrid Club to be registered. There are some people so in love with their breed that they start clubs that distribute information about the breed. And they advertise that they can find a person interested in buying their breed a breeder they can put their name on the waiting list if there is one or just get the dog right away.
Chihuahuas are so yesterday in Hollywood. Now it is mixed breed, Hybrid dogs. Famous people in Hollywood are getting in on the act to stay with what’s hot in Tinsel Town.
Some famous people getting in on the act are Jennifer Anniston who owns a Labradoodle which is a Labrador Retriever and poodle mix; Beyonce and Jessica Simpson both own Malt-A-poos which is a maltese and poodle mix. This kind of dog is so popular that The Queen of England had her Corgi mate with a dachshund making a Dorgi, albeit the mating wasn’t planned. Leave it to the Queen to get in on what is hot and have it done by accident! She is such a super lady! I greatly admire her.
According to American Canine Hybrid Club the most popular hybrid is a puggle, a mix between a pug and a beagle
Surprisingly, people want what people used to dismiss as mutts and are willing to search for a breeder they are comfortable with and like their dogs. They are also willing to be put on waiting lists for these hybrid dogs and pay a lot of money for them.
Some hybrid dogs that are part poodle are the goldendoodle which is a golden retriever and poodle and a shi-poo a shi tzu and poodle.
