Do you like to keep in shape? Do you ever exercise? Ever attempt the treadmill?
The famous dog, Uggie, a Jack Russel Terrier from the film “The artist” and “water for elephants” does something that is increasonally popular among dogs. Their keepers buy them a DogPacer which is a treadmill manufactured just for dogs.
Uggie’s keeper, Omar Von Muller of Los Angeles, bought him the DogPacer. This device is for when photographers are outside his house, having to work hard and it just might be frigid outside. This helps give his dog exercise (authors note, I believe that Jack Russel Terriers have a lot of energy to burn)
Von Muller explains why he blieve that dogs should have the DogPacer, “It’s imporant to keep him in shape, if they don’t get their exercise , they get old to fast, just like people.”
American Pet Products Association said in 2011-2012 took a poll to see how many dogs use doggie treadmills.
These are great for fat or old dogs as it gives them exercise.
At LA dog works in Los Angeles, the owner Andrew Rosenthal is the proud owner of a DogPacer for his Alsatian German Shepherd, Josh, utilizes. He owns the newest but cheapest edition at $499
Rosental may untilities a lot more expensive for his dog care establishment he owns, It has grooming, training, boarding, day care, hydrotherapy, massage therapy. If you thought that was enough at his center he uses Jog-A-Dog which is worth $3000 and a special underwater treadmill that cost him IF YOU HAVE HEART PROBLEMS SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH, he paid $40,000 for it
David Ezra the owner of DogPacer based in Las Vegas, said the distinctiona human treadmill is the size as the pace of is larger and longer than a human being and dogs are a lot shorter than a human.
DogPacer is unveiling a treadmill for a toy dog that will also cost less.
The Pooch Hotel is owned by PetCo Animal Supplies in Las Angeles uses the treadmill to keep pets in shape.

I saw a little cute dog on a treadmill somewhere on television and it was hilarious. yes dogs do suffer similar human conditions and exercise is needed. I do believe we are spoiling the dogs a bit much and causing some obesity these days. thanks for sharing.

Wonder why a walk around the block or two cannot do the same thing for the dog’s health…..

Jack Russell dogs should be active, if a person cannot exercise such a dog they should get a different breed. Preventing obesity in dogs is something all owners should do.

These are a great help for an owner that is disabled, wheelchair bound or elderly. They are also useful when there is inclimate weather outside such as ice or snow. There are some owners that live in a high rise apt or condo who would really appreciate this. There are models that actually fold to take up as little room as possible.
