No matter how busy your life is it’s important to spend some quality time with your dog. This is an effective way to help strengthen the bond with your dog besides helping you to release stress in your everyday’s life.

Make new clothing for your dog and they will definitely appreciate your love. Specifically, your dog will understand the effort you did on behalf of them and will be much happier to try on new attire you made for them.
Take cute and cool pictures of your dog. When your dog knows that you are snapping pictures of them, they will display a neat posture and smile at you wholeheartedly! Remember to put the pictures in a fancy frame and show them to your dog. Guess what? They will grin at you happily.

Check your dog’s poop every day. When they have watery and sticky poop they are not in any mood to smile at you. In this case, bring them to a vet. Only when their feces is healthy will they smile at you naturally.
Make sure that you provide them with healthy foods and an adequate amount of clean water each day to make them smiling at you. Also, keep monitoring their health condition. A happy dog will always repay your kindness with a sweet smile. Therefore, it’s important to constantly bring them to a vet for medical check-ups and vaccinations in order to help maintain their health state.

If you encounter with any abandoned, injured or hurt dogs, try rescuing them by bringing them to a proper place, shelter or dog rescue groups so that they can be properly cared for. If you can afford to and have enough space in your house, it might just be a good idea to give them a place to live in, and at the same time you’ve given them a good family and yourself a loyal friend. (Warning: homeless dogs can be very dangerous and hence they should proceed with caution.)
Dogs are clever animals. When you rub their fur gently with your palm they will at once first understand they’re being valued and loved. Rather, when you rub their ears or tummy gently, they will show you how happy they are by closing their eyes and smiling naturally.

From time to time, you should spend some quality time by walking them through a park, street or playground. They don’t like to be jailed in an enclosed space. They need to free their mind by walking around to rejuvenate their spirit. Further, when they walk to a nature place like a waterfall, beach, stream or a jungle, they can breathe in fresh air making them to be willing to smile at you. A car ride as well, might also be a thrilling experience for your dog. (Note: When your dog travels with you in a car, make sure that you have purchased a doggie belt to ensure their safety).
Spend some time to gently massage/rub your dog’s inner ear (the little piece of cartilage especially at the entrance to the inner part of your dog’s ear) and the base of their lower ear with your middle finger and you will see your dog’s head tilt to one side with their eyes half closed. Using both of your hands gently massage your dog from their snout up to the whole length of their body and when your dog is lying beside you, run your hands gently along the length of their whole body which will create a motivation of excitement of your dog.

Give your dog a good treat. Always threat them with a low-calorie snack like carrots or apple slices, but never treat them with chocolate or grapes which might get them choking or cause them to become very sick as they are toxic to your doggie.
Talk to your dog and regard them as one of your family members. As dogs are extraordinary animals, they can understand your language and body language and are more likely to wag their tails and have a good mood to smile.

Shampooing and bathing them occasionally helps to maintain your dog’s hygiene. This in turns keeps them away from germs and pathogens which cause infections and may cause their mood swings.
Don’t chain your dog! They don’t like to be chained like a criminal. Instead, they prefer their owner to let them wondering around the compound of the house freely rather them sitting in the same boring place.

Lastly, make them a beautiful wide kennel to let them comfortably sleep in particularly during a cooler night or rainy day. Kennels can also be built that are cooler on the hottest days.

very nice post with great pictures. As far as pug is concerned, pampering and too much petting will make him alive and active

Oh so cute. Smiling dogs make me smile too.
Only thing is, part of the article states
‘Always threat them with a low-calorie snack like carrots or apple slices …’
I think it should say
‘Always TREAT them with …’
