Here’s the top ten list from Veterinary Pet Insurance of what our pets are deciding to make a meal of:

  1. Socks
  2. Underwear
  3. Pantyhose
  4. Rocks
  5. Balls
  6. Chew toys
  7. Corncobs
  8. Bones
  9. Hair ties/ribbons
  10. Sticks

Now, obviously this list indicates those items they’re eating that results in needing a Vet’s care. Items that are surely posing a health risk, and at least some intestinal distress for your poor pet. But who knows what they’re eating that just go completely unnoticed?

So, take this as a lesson. Pet owners need to pay attention to what their animals get in their mouths. Better yet, put your socks and underwear away and you could prevent the grief from having to pay for a Vet visit in the first place!

Please make sure your pet’s treats are actual pet treats. Your Veterinarian will thank you, your wallet will thank you… and most importantly, your pet will thank you.

My moms dogs like to eat underwear. It hasn’t caused issue’s yet but I have warned her before about getting them to stop because it could end up hurting them plus I found I was running out of underwear to wear and so were my sister and brothers.

I saw a dog once eating napkin with blood in it. It was so disgusting! I cursed the owner of the napkin who recklessly threw it.

I like this, you know this is so true. I have a puppy about two months old and he eats whatever he can get his mouth on. One day when he was home alone, he jumped up on a little table turned everything over and he got a C.D. and when I got home it was all chewed up.
