Boxers

Boxers are of a muscled body, short-coated, square-headed strong bred dog with a docked tail and a tight skin. It has been registered as the largest dog breed in the “working dog” category by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Generally, Boxers are both an excellent companion for the kid and an obedient watchdog for their owner.

Great Danes are powerful guard dogs that are always full of courage and spirit. They’re indeed an elegant dog breed of domestic dog which have long been known for their gigantic size. Not only that they’re big in size, but they’re one of the world’s tallest dog breeds. Gibson is one of their species that held the world record as the tallest living dog.

Cocker Spaniels

Cocker Spaniels make good companion for a family since they’re playful, affectionate, kind cheerful and obedient. They like to play fun activities such as flyball, hide and seek, tracking with the kids, too. Originally, they were bred as gun dogs to help hunt for birds. They act strangely with objects such as papers or sponges which remind them of birds.

Mastiffs

Mastiffs are especially large, symmetrical dogs with a well-knit frame which is an aggressive yet loyal and gentle companion being loved around people. They were bred in England and in the history they were used as a watchdog over two thousand years. 

Jack Russell Terriers

Jack Russell Terriers are sturdy, tough but small dogs which require early training to help pet owners to deal with biting and digging problem. They’re white-bodied, rough or smooth coated terriers that were originally used in fox hunting.

Chow Chow

Chow Chow is a big, stocky and well-mannered dog with a distinctive feature of blue-black tongue and nearly straight hind legs. Before it was introduced to China, Chow Chow was initially developed in Mongolia over 4,000 years ago, and it’s called “Songshi Quan”, which literally means “puffy-lion dog” in China.

Papillons

Papillons are bright, cheerful and friendly dogs which brighten the gloomy days of the pet owners. They are an elegant dog breed of the Spaniel type dated back as far as the 13th century. They take the French word for “butterfly” for a distinctive feature of their large butterfly-like ears.

Old English Sheepdogs

The Old English Sheepdogs are strong, intelligent, gentle, loving and friendly dogs developed in England. They are easily distinguished by their shaggy, long, thick white and grey coat, with fur almost covering up their eyes and face. They need to be taken out for a daily jog, run or walk. Since they can adjust themselves to different conditions, they are very much part of a family.

Lhasa Apso Dogs

Lhasa Apso dogs are very playful, spirited, devoted and lively little dog originating in Tibet. They are loyal and obedient to their owner. As they are affectionate with their masters, they make excellent pets particularly for the elderly. They can easily adapt to a living condition in a condo or an apartment even with very little exercise.

Chihuahuas

Chihuahuas are the cutest, sweetest and most adorable pet dog favored by a family who prefers to keep a small dog. Often, they share kisses and love with their pet owners as well as with each other alike. They prefer to lay lazily for sun-bathing and often try to make themselves look good. Sometimes, they burrow under the blankets or pillows just to get a long sweet nap.

    I cannot tell you how much I miss my little dog, Brownie. He was a Jack Russell Chihuahua; just the right size to scoop up and take for a ride, and he loved car rides. He was such a buddy. I recommend that anyone who can rescue a dog. There is one is perfect for any and every one.

    Wonderful, wonderful article. My brother’s family had a Dane once and she was the sweetest dog you could ever want. She hated when the children would swim in the deep end of the pool. If they got too close to the edge she would try and put them out of the pool. Thanks for this fine article.

    My mum would never let me get a Chow Chow… they’re a very beautiful breed though. Great Danes are very nice too (Gentle Giants) :) And I’ve always wanted a Mastiff, but my parents refuse to let me get one since they shed like crazy! Nice write, though!
