Natural Homemade Horse Treats

Have you ever wanted to make a delicious treat for your favorite horse? Horses love plain carrots and apples and especially carrots dipped in molasses. We also know that horses love those store bought treats too. So here is a special way for you to make your horse delicious treats made with love. We hope you enjoy making them as much as your horse will enjoy eating them.

Fruit Surprise

2 cups horse feed
1 banana – chopped
1 apple – diced
6 strawberries – sliced
4 baby carrots – sliced
1 cup molasses
4 peppermints – crushed

Mix all ingredients together and serve.

Pumpkin Surprise

Take a small pumpkin, cut off top and remove all insides. Be sure and get all the seeds. Fill it with grain, carrots, apples, peppermints, strawberries or whatever fruit you have on hand. Replace top and serve to your horse.

Apple Banana Snacks

Powdered Sugar

Cut apple and banana into slices. Drizzle honey over fruit and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Refrigerate until hard.

Honey Cookies

¼ cup dry oatmeal
1 cup sweet feed
2 Tlbs. Apple sauce
1 Tlbs. Honey (or molasses)
1 cup cheerios
4 sugar cubes
Pinch of brown sugar
½ cup water

Mix oatmeal with water. Add sweet feed and apple sauce. Mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape and serve.
