In my daughter’s home there live two adults, two teenage boys, three dogs and one cat. Now this would drive any normal person to drink but in this home the only one that is gone to the dogs is her German Wirehair Terrier called Method. He has got to be the craziest dog I know. he do have some quirks and he is anything but pretty in my eyes but so very lovable that you can’t help but take to him. He has been with the boys for five years and pretty much let them do what they want with him but never in a harmful way. Let me introduce you to method and you’ll see what I mean.

The German wirehaired developed in Germany for hunting and soon became the lead hunting dog of that country. They are affectionate, active and intelligent. They are loyal to their families. It is said that you should socialize these dogs from a puppy. (I do believe Method took this to the extreme.)

You would never say it by looking at these pictures but German Wirehaired pointers are very skilled hunters. They can do the work of a, retriever and a spaniel. They can track, point and retrieve on land or water. It was bred for thoroughness rather than speed or drive.
Their distinctive outer coat is straight, harsh, wiry and flat believe it or not, Method has been endowed with all of these features but Methods face is what gets me. Intelligence is not what I would call it. He’s the only dog that I can look at and laugh without him doing anything funny.

Here is Method in his true element.
The pictures you’ve seen are from my personal file. I keep them to give me a laugh now and then. Method is loved by all that he lives with. He gets along with all the other animals although it was touch and go, with Joe the cat when he first came to the house. But they have worked that out and now you would just as likely see Joe lying on Method to go to sleep.
