Dear Momma Cat, What is Wrong with My Bestest Friend?

I asked for suggestions for the topic of my 500th Triond article. The most requests were for a new ‘Momma Cat’ advice article; and for another story written by my cute little puppy dog Brandi. So I decided to combine the two suggestions. Here is a letter that Brandi wrote in to Momma Cat, and the reply with advice from MC.

This here is me all lonely ‘n sad

Dear Momma Cat,

Firstly of all, the human mom at my house says I hafta say sorry to you for all of the stuff I’ve said about the kitty cat at our house. I dunno why I’m s’pposed to say sorry to you, on account’a I don’ know you, but the human mom says she won’t tap tap this letter into her shiny silver thingy unless I apologize, so here goes:

Momma Cat, I’s is sorry for all the stuff I says about the kitty cat. The kitty cat is my bestest friend and from now on I’s is just gonna say nice stuff about the kitty cat. Is that a good enough sorry to say? I hope youse will forgive me, ‘cause I gots a question about the kitty cat.

Okay, so here is my question. The kitty cat and me, we’s been havin’ lots ‘n lots of fun running ‘round the house ‘n wrestling ‘n just havin’ lots of fun.

But now Zinger (that’s what the humans call the kitty cat) is gettin’ fat ‘n lazy and all she wants to do is eat ‘n sleep. If she keeps just eat’n ‘n sleepin’ will she get so fat she’ll explode?

I hopes that you can help me to know what’s wrong with my bestest friend, ‘cause now I gots nobody to chase ‘n wrestle ‘n stuff.

See the kitty cat all fat ‘n lazy

Dear Brandi,

I accept your apology for the stuff you have said about your cat friend. Our two kinds have not always gotten along very well, so I am glad to hear that you and Zinger are best friends.

There is nothing wrong with your friend. She is having kittens! Sorry, but you will have to play on your own or with the humans for the next month or so. After Zinger has her babies, you will have to leave her alone to take care of them. The kittens will be too small for you to play with for a few weeks. I know that is a long time in dog weeks, but Zinger will back to her Zingy self when the kittens are bigger.

Yours meowingly,

Momma Cat

    Brandi looks so sad.
Indeed her friend cat is pregnant and needs special care, she will explode, but will be exploding with kittens! Hopefully this will be her last litter so they can be best of pals again and for years to come!

Great article Karen , I visited a house today where the cat and dog are best friends, They like to play chasing outside but today it was so wet the dog stayed inside. :)

Don’t worry, puppydog…your kitty friend will be up and about sooner than you think. :) For now, just lie back and enjoy the rest and leisure time you’re having…because soon you’ll be wrestling and fending off five, six, or more kitties all ganging up on you at the same time!! Lol.

Karen, I hope your puppy dog will get through the aggravation of kittens. They’ll give the poor fellow a good run for his money.
