Emma could not believe what she saw in front of her. Late in the evening she heard a strange sound outside and opened the front door. There was a kitten – small, black , without his tail. At first Emma couldn’t believe her eyes and thought she was looking at the ghost of her dead cat. After a long staring she got the kitten from the ground and brought him to the kitchen. The tiny animal was hungry and lapped up its milk in a minute. Emma put the kitten on her hands after he had eaten two plates of milk.
A young woman sat down on her favourite armchair and looked back at her cat Blackie. A small kitten which was happily sleeping on her laps, was a real copy of Blackie, her cat which had died a lot of years ago. Emma though of the last days before Blackie’s death. Her cat hadn’t been well. Emma had been coaxing her to eat and drink daily and giving her shots. Blackie had never been a big cat but she had gotten down to around 3 kilograms by that time. At first the shots worked well but when they wore off, Blackie refused eating. Emma was told to feed her special food because her kidneys were falling. Emma had spent the week trying everything to get her cat to eat and drink when she understood it was the time let her cat go to the cats’ heaven, the place without pain. It was one of the hardest things Emma had ever done, but she couldn’t look how her Blackie was suffering.
Emma gazed at the kitten. Suddenly a tiny creature looked up at her. A small kitten that was anything but pleased. Emma understood the power of animal’s eyes to speak. New Blackie announced to her that his arrival at her house was what they both wanted. They both were happy about what had happened.
