How to Care for a Lizard in Captivity

This article will tell you almost exactly how to care for a lizard as a pet.

There are some steps that you must follow in order to care for a lizard which are very awesome creatures.

Step 1:

The first and probably the most important step is the find or buy a lizard. It doesn’t matter what kind of lizard, as long as it’s a lizard.

Step 2:

The second step is to buy a 15-20 gallon glass tank for the lizard to live in. (You also need to buy a heat lamp and a purple colored night light)

Step 3:

Go to your front / back yard or anywhere with little pebbles, grass, or gravel and cover the bottom of the tank with those items. You may want to install a live plant to make the habitat look more “wildish” and make the lizard feel like its in the wild. Also put in some sticks that fit in the tank so it has a place to climb.

Step 4:

After you finish making the habitat, put the lizard in its new home.

Step 5:

Go to your local pet store and buy crickets and feed 5 crickets each day to the lizard. The lizard might sometimes also eat grasshoppers but if you’re going to feed it big grasshoppers it is recommended that you take of one of it’s jumping legs so that it doesn’t jump as powerfully. (You may of course catch both cricket and grasshoppers)

That is basically how you care for a lizard. I hope this was a help for those of you who wants a pet lizard.
